Abstract

The article analyzes strategic directions for improving the financial basis for increasing the competitiveness of cotton farms in the Republic of Tajikistan. In the context of global economic changes, climate change and internal economic instability, the efficiency of agricultural production, including cotton growing, depends on a number of factors, including the availability of financial resources, the level of government support and the introduction of innovative technologies. The current problems of the industry are considered: high production costs, low profitability, unstable incomes of farmers, as well as limited opportunities for obtaining long-term loans. An assessment of the state and statistical analysis of data showed the need to develop new mechanisms to support the industry and improve its infrastructure. Specific strategic measures have been proposed to solve these problems: the creation of agricultural cooperatives, improving the availability of credit resources, government support, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies and production management methods. Conclusions and recommendations may be useful for agricultural enterprises, government agencies and researchers involved in problems of agricultural policy and economics.
