The article dwells on methodical aspects of assessment as to social-economic development of the region. Different methods and models of assessment as to social-economic development of the region are systematized aand deeply analyzed. The methods in question have been researched, important indices for assessment being considered and systematized. The authors propose a mechanism of the former with the peculiarities of the economy of Tajikistan regions taken into account. This mechanism is important in the practice of the activities implemented by the authorized bodies of state power responsible for the governance with region and territory, assessment of social-economic development inclusive. The authors offer recommendations for an improvement of normative aspects concerned with social-economic development of Tajikistan Republic regions
