The article dwells on concept, essence, definition and treatment of law being a regulator of social relations. The authors have analyzes various approaches to a comprehension of the essence of law existing in juridical science. Special attention is also paid to the problems of correlation of law with other social regulators, such as morality, adats, traditions and religious norms. Special consideration is aimed at different definitions of law and morality, unity between law and morality, their difference and interaction with each other are elicited.
