The article dwells on the formation and development of USA foreign policy towards Central Asian countries, in particular, “Heartland” conception, “deterrence” theory, “Rimland” conception, “Marine force” theory. The USA role in disintegration of the Soviet Union is exposed. The author substantiates the inference that strategic imperatives of the USA foreign policy towards CA weren’t subjected to special changes for the entire postbipolar period excluding revisional correction of doctrines determining the USA strategy in CA with permanently altering international political situation being taken into account. Advantageous geolocation and availability of rich deposits of hydrocarbons in Central Asian region are underscored as well, as these fact make it an object of geopolitical interests on the part of global actors who exert direct influence over political processes inside the region while realizing their doctrines and strategic purposes.
