The article examines the trends of population`s employment growth in the economy of Tajikistan. The status and socio-economic aspects of employment have been studied and considered in the article. Some provisions noted in the state normative legislative documents aimed at increasing the employment, in particular the National Development Strategy for the period until 2030, are adduced in the article.The main problems which have been emerging in the domestic labor market concerning regulation of employment are identified and analyzed. In particular, here refer: significant gap between supply and demand of labor force, growth of unemployment among youth and women, low wages in the sectors of national economy, non-full utilization of productive capacities, disproportion in employment structure of Tajikistan's economy, and others. The author suggests a system of measures that should regulate employment for the future.
